The concept of Immanence has been subject of polemics, since its theoretical extent. Several knowledge areas should be held to account to this concept, either adopting or getting rid of it, in order to become a theoretical field of reflection. In this article, we discuss the immanencist point of view in the descriptive practice of the semiotic facts, and we call attention to the importance of the relationship among the concepts of immanence, text and transposition as the essential matter regarding the French approach of the semiotic theory. In this work we report the risk of ontologization of the semiotic theory, and we argue for the maintenance of the epistemical and methodological nature of those concepts in the construction of a “scientifically committed” project which concerns the principle of the Hjelmslevian empiricism.Downloads
