Tópicos del Seminario is a biannual journal and publishes complete volumes (two by year). Since its appearance, in print version (ISSN 1665-1200), in 1999, the journal has rigorously maintained, and continues to do so, the biannual edition of its volumes. From 2020 (no. 43) the journal is only in digital version (eISSN 2594-0619).
Currently, the journal appears at the beginning of each of its two six-month periods. An average of twelve articles are published on a yearly basis.
The time elapsed between receipt, review and acceptance of an article oscillate between six and ten months. Articles received in Spanish can shorten this time interval, while those that need to go through a translation process sometimes require a slightly longer interval. The journal has a portfolio of translators specialized in the disciplines it serves, as it considers the circulation of science in Spanish to be relevant, and one of its policies is to contribute to the consolidation of a scientific metalanguage in our language.
