Abstract

This article examines Lotman’s semiosphere as a key model for analyzing identity dynamics in the digital environment. Through this concept, we explore how social media shapes discursive communities and influences the circulation of beliefs, including conspiracy narratives and misinformation. It is argued that the semiosphere provides a framework for understanding both the formation of information bubbles and the processes of translation and reinterpretation within digital collectives.

Furthermore, in a rapidly evolving media landscape, these contemporary issues offer an opportunity to rediscover the relevance of the semiosphere as an analytical tool.
